O help us, dear Jesus!
We need you today,
And you're our only hope for tomorrow!
For you count all our tears
and you feel all our pain,
You who carried our griefs and our sorrows.

Lord, you left heaven's throne,
came to suffer and save,
Tasted death at your Father's command!
And you died all alone!
Yet you conquered the grave.
Now you hold the keys of death in your hand!

O hear us, dear Jesus,
our shield and our strength,
You who lift up the weak and the lowly;
As we humbly draw near you
and feebly give thanks
To the One who is worthy of glory!

Oh, but how can we sing
songs of joy in the night,
When we hurt and we're so far from home?
Lord, to you may we cling,
till our faith turns to sight,
When you come back to ransom all your own!

Come heal us, dear Jesus,
most faithful of friends!
Walk beside us today and tomorrow!
Till you dry all our tears,
bring our grief to an end,
In the place where we'll know no more sorrow!
In your presence
we'll know no more sorrow!
