Worship Ideas:
"TASTE AND SEE"

Themes: living waters vs. bitter cup of wrath
(See related themes and Scriptures under wormwood)

Preparation:
Express our thirst for God (Ps 42:1, 63:1, 84:1-2)
Ask the "fount of every blessing" to come to us, pour out his blessings.

Worship & Thank the Creator:
God as the creator, who daily pours out blessings of water and life to his creatures (Pss 65, 104)

Cry out:
Confess seeking life and fulfillment in things other than the Spring of living waters (Jer 2:13)
Acknowledge the bitterness of our rebellion
Ask for him to fill us in this "dry and thirsty land."
Ask his blessings and Spirit to be poured out on all flesh.

See his judgment & mercy
the bitter cup of wrath we deserve
how Christ drinks the bitter cup for us!
    (songs of the cross)
how he invites us to drink the living waters from his side

Celebrate & Thank God ("offering")
lifting up the "cup of thanksgiving" (Psalm 116)
delighting in our cup overflowing with blessings (Psalm 23)
declaring his goodness

Invite the thirsty:
to come and drink the living waters (Isa 51, Rev 22)
to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps 34)

Recall his Gift in the Supper:
the bitter cup he drank
the "cup of blessing" we drink

Stand fast, hoping in his Promise:
he will give us waters in the desert
he will bring us to his 'fountain of delights'
